Blood Clinic
Our phlebotomists hold blood taking clinics from 8.20 am to 11.00 am on most mornings.

Antenatal and Postnatal care is provided by all the doctors in cooperation with the midwife. 

Child Health Surveillance is undertaken by Dr Ireland, dr Wells and our health visitor. This service assesses the development and wellbeing of children less than five years of age. 

Immunisations in children
These are carried out by the Health Visitor in clinics held on Monday afternoons. Appointments are arranged by Child Health Services. If you need to cancel a child’s immunisation appointment please call 01640 670427, leaving a message if necessary. 

Baby Clinics 
Clinics are held at The Village Hall, Pound Lane, Moulton from 2 pm to 3.30 pm The dates for 2012 are below:

• February 7th and 21st
• March 6th and 20th
• April 3rd and 17th
• May 1st and 15th
• June 19th 
• July 3rd and 17th
• August 7th and 21st
• September 4th and 18th
• Ocotber 2nd and 16th
• November 6th and 20th
• December 4th and 18th

Diabetes clinics are held in the surgery on a monthly basis and patients with diabetes are sent appointments for these clinics. 
 
Asthma clinics, run by a Doctor and nurse are held in the surgery. Contact reception for an appointment. 

Smoking cessation
If you would like help to give up smoking, please ask at reception for an appointment with a practice nurse. You will be offered regular support and if appropriate, smoking cessation aids.

Support for carers 
If you are the carer for someone, please advise reception so that we can note this on your records and offer support where appropriate. 

Emergency Contraception 
We are able to offer confidential advice and treatment for emergency contraception. If you think you require emergency contraception you need to seek advice as soon as possible, but no later than 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. This will usually mean that you can discuss this during normal surgery hours. 

Minor Surgery some minor operations are performed at the surgery. 

Other Services

Private medical examinations 

These can be arranged by appointment for insurance purposes. Pre-employment and HGV medicals are also available. Please contact reception to book a medical and to enquire about the cost. Payment should normally be made at the time of the examination. Missed appointments will be invoiced.

Other private work 

The completion of many forms and letters normally attracts a fee as the work is not regarded as NHS work. Please ask at reception for the cost.

Fit Notes (previously Sick Notes) 

These are not normally required unless you have been off work for a week. If your employer requires a certificate for less than a week, we will be happy to provide one privately. A charge is made for this service. 

Test Results

Please telephone the surgery after 11.00 a.m. for the results of any investigations. Most blood results are back at the practice within 5 working days. 

The practice has a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. We will only release test results to the person to whom they relate unless that person has given prior permission for the release of this data or they are not capable of understanding the results.

Chlamydia Screening

Chlamydia is now the number 1 Sexually Transmitted Infection, overtaking genital warts.

Chlamydia screening is recommended for all sexually active 15-24 year olds.

50 % of males and 70% of females may have NO symptoms at all.

We offer screening at the surgery and this is done via a simple urine test. It is all confidential.

Ask for an appointment with a nurse or GP or mention it when you next have an appointment.
